Sarah and Adam first visited Newfoundland in 2008 and quickly fell in love with the people, culture, music, scenery and sense of community in the province. After visiting twice more in 2010 and 2012, they decided to find a way to spend more time there...every year.
Both Sarah and Adam also had dreams of owning their own business, so in the summer of 2012 they made both dreams a reality by opening Aunt Sarah's Chocolate Shop in Trinity, Newfoundland. Given that Sarah's father, Peter, had been making chocolate and candy for over 30 years in Ontario, the chocolate shop seemed to be a natural fit.
Now in its sixth season, Aunt Sarah's Chocolate Shop has become a must-do in Trinity. Drop by for a visit and a free sample (or two)!
In June 2016 Adam and Sarah took their sweet teeth and love of desserts to Bonavista and opened Sweet Rock Ice Cream where they make all of their ice cream, sorbet, gelato and other frozen desserts from scratch, on-site, with local dairy, eggs, berries, fruit, maple syrup, and many other ingredients (including Aunt Sarah's chocolate). Ice cream is made daily and new flavours are introduced (and tested :)) every day!
